Hyderabad (AP), January 13: The Telugu Desam Party today asked the Assembly Deputy Speaker to immediately decide on the disqualification of its rebel MLA Nallapureddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy for indulging in “anti-party activities”.
Prasanna Kumar, an MLA from Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district, moved out of the TDP more than one-and-a-half year ago and has joined the former Congress leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s camp.
Kumar has been taking active part in programmes organised by Jagan, including the recent hunger-strike in New Delhi.
The TDP had petitioned to the then Speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy (the current chief minister) seeking disqualification of Prasanna Kumar but no action was taken.
TDP legislators Payyavula Kesav and Jaipal Yadav met Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar this evening and renewed their appeal for disqualification of Prasanna Kumar.
