TDP seeks explanation from Talasani Srinivas Yadav

Hyderabad, July 09: Telugu Desam Party gave another chance to dissident leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav. The party wanted him to depose before a threemember committee tomorrow at 11 a.m. and give explanation.

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who held a meeting with party seniors and GHMC leaders today, constituted a committee with senior leaders like Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, K Yerran Naidu and N Janardhan Reddy.

The party wanted Yadav to attend before the three-member committee and give his explanation.

As Talasani Srinivas Yadav refused to fall in line with the party, the party has decided to slap a show-cause notice on him. But, changed it stand and constituted a committee. “Party wanted Yadav to give his explanation before the committee tomorrow,’’ Ramakrishnudu told Express after the meeting. Party may seek explanation from Yadav why he met Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy recently, though Yadav denied such meetings.

Srinivas Yadav has been demanding that the TDP should revert to its earlier stand of unified Andhra from the pro-Telangana stand.

Rumours are rife that Yadav may join Congress with an eye on the mayoral post in the forthcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections.

Several city Congress leaders too are not averse to his entry into the Congress.

In today’s meeting, senior leade r s suggested Naidu to take action against Yadav, who had a meeting with select reporters yesterday to discuss his future course of action. Some of them wanted Naidu to give another chance to Yadav before taking any disciplinary action against the dissident leader. Yadav had already conducted a survey in the city and opined that pro-Telangana stand would not work out for TDP in the GHMC elections.Yadav made his unified Andhra stand public and avoided party’s three-day review meeting. He later met Naidu and discussed contentious issues with him. He again raked up the issue yesterday by revealing the `outcome’ of his own survey on T-issue in the GHMC limits.
