Hyderabad, April 18: Taking a serious note of TDP MLC Nannapaneni Rajakumari’s unsavoury comments made by her against party leadership, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today constituted a two-member committee to seek explanation from her.
According to party sources, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu constituted a two-member committee with Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Garikapati Mohanrao to seek explanation from Rajakumari. She was asked to present herself before the committee on April 21 at 11 a.m.
Rajakumari said that she would present her argument before the committee.
It may be recalled that Rajakumari made some unpleasant remarks against TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in a meeting at Guntur yesterday.
She alleged that there was no due recognition to the leaders, who have been sincerely working for the party.
Her outburst had a reason that she was opposing the likely re-entry of actress Jayaprada into the party. Rajakumari is also trying for a berth in Rajya Sabha this time. She made similar adverse comments against party chief just before Legislative Council elections. But, finally Naidu cleared her candidature for MLC elections. But, Rajakumari was of the opinion that she was a senior leader and should be given Rajya Sabha seat. Rajakumar is also known for her proximity to Chief Minister K Rosaiah.
Considering her comments as deliberate, the party may take some action against her, if her explanation was not satisfactory.
The party too viewed the war of words between Rajakumari and former Mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy seriously.
