TDP leader YVB Rajendra Prasad today ridiculed the decision of YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to stay away from the foundation laying ceremony for Amaravathi, the new capital for Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to media at NTR trust bhavan here, Rajendra Prasad referred to a letter written by Jaganmohan Reddy stating that he will not attend the function even if he received invitation.
“This historic foundation laying ceremony for new capital city” would not be stopped if Jagan did not attend it” he said and termed the decision of Jagan as ridiculous. On Jagan’s allegation of taking over lands forcibly from the farmers for the new capital, the TDP leader challenged if the former has courage, let him come for a debate either at Tulluru or Uddandarayuni Boddurai.
Promulgating prohibitory orders in and around the proposed capital city is a routine affair, because besides the prime minister, VVIPs from various states and other countries are expected to attend it, he clarified.
Strongly criticizing Jagan for his baseless allegation, Rajendra Prasad said Jagan has no moral right to talk about farmers. He alleged that Jagan was obstructing the development of the State.(NSS)
