TDP Raps CM. Aides For Visiting Delhi At Hour Of Crisis

The main Opposition Telugu Desam Party today questioned Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and his cabinet colleagues whether it was reasonable and justifiable for them to visit New Delhi to please their bosses when the people in the coastal Andhra were badly hit by the Neelam cyclone.

Speaking to mediapersons at party headquarters NTR Bhavan here on Sunday, party senior leaders Bojjala Gopalakrishna and Mandava Venkateswara Rao bemoaned that the farmers in the coastal region were a quandary as they lost their crops in the devastation. They said nobody knows what the incharge ministers and district ministers were doing at the hour of crisis. They said that they did not see a hopeless situation in the State so far.

The TDP leaders also took a serious exception to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, who visited Visakhapatnam, failed to review the calamitous situation on account of floods and Neelam cyclone. They also alleged that the officials concerned remained indifferent to the flood situation instead of lending a helping hand to the unfortunate farming community at the hour of crisis.

They said that several teams led by Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu, Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, Mothkupally Narasimhulu and Peddi Reddy would tour the cyclone-hit Krishna, West Godavari, Guntur, East Godavari, Khammam and other affected districts.
