TDP opposes FDI in retail business

TDP demanded Govt. of India to withdraw the decision for allowing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Retail Business Sector. The party said that the Central Govt. didn’t discuss it in the cabinet. It has taken this decision in haste. TDP has appealed to observe statewide bandh on 20th September 2012 and requested the public to organize protests and strikes. Talking to newsmen yesterday, TDP Supremo, Mr. N.Chandrababbu Naidu told that with this decision, 1.20 crore shops and four crore workers would be affected. Without suggesting an alternative, it won’t be beneficial to Govt. It has escaped its responsibility but entrusting the Retail Business to Corporate Sector.

He told that if the Govt. does not take back this decision, people will teach it a lesson. He told that the Agricultural Sector would be affected negatively with this decision.

People would suffer with the increase in price of diesel, fertilizers and petrol. He totally rejected the claim of the Govt. that this would generate more jobs. He asked the Govt. whether depriving four crore people of rural population can be treated as generation of jobs.
