Hyderabad, January 12: The Telugu Desam leadership is not in favour of creating a Telangana regional wing in the party, TDP spokesman and MLA from the region Revanth Reddy has made it clear.
Talking with reporters here today, he said creation of a separate wing in the party for Telangana region was demanded by some party leaders. “But it is a closed chapter now and there will be no more discussions on it,” he asserted and disclosed that the party leadership directed leaders of all the three regions to concentrate on their regional problems by respecting the local people’s feelings and sentiments.
Revanth’s assertion assumes significance since Telangna Telugu Desam Party Forum leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy has been hell-bent on a separate wing for Telangana and even discussed the matter with party chief N Chandrababu Naidu who turned his demand down.
Naidu, however, assured Telangana leaders of his party that he would discuss the matter with them on January 13.
Today’s categorical assertion by the party spokesman effectively rules out the possibility.
Interestingly, Janardhan Reddy and Revanth Reddy hail from the same district _ Mahaboobnagar _ in southern Telangana.
