TDP MLA to undertake padayatra for irrigation water

Ibrahimpatnam, February 13: TDP Ibahimpatnam MLA Mr. Manchireddy Kishan Reddy has decided to undertake a padayatra to the assembly from Mal village of his constituency from February 14, demanding irrigation water to his constituency and introduction of the Telangana bill in the parliament.

In a press release here, he said the Padayatra would reach the assembly at 9 am on February 17, the opening day of the budget session.

He said if water was taken through canals over Nakkala Gutta from the Dindi project, 1.8 lakh acres would get irrigated in Ibrahimpatnam and Munugodu constituencies. He has also said that if water was lifted from the Aliminati Madhava Reddy project through Sivannagudem, water could be supplied to the Ibrahimpatnam constituency. He wanted the government to take immediate steps to take up these projects.

Stating that he was also demanding solution to the fees reimbursement issue and help to the farmers in distress, the MLA has appealed to the people to make his Pada Yatra a success.
