TDP members to visit Babli project in Maha, invites CM

Hyderabad, July 14: The Telugu Desam Party will undertake a bus yatra from July 16 to Babli in Maharashtra as part of a fact-finding exercise on the ‘illegal’ irrigation projects being constructed by that state on river Godavari.

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu told newsmen here today that leaders of all political parties, including the chief minister, Speaker and others, were welcome to take part in the yatra that was meant to expose the Maharashtra government on the illegal projects.

“Our Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah returned without inspecting the Babli project site, scared by the Maharashtra government’s threats. Now, we will go en masse to the project site so as to bring pressure on both the state and the Central governments to stop the illegal projects that will spell doom for Telangana region,” Chandrababu said.
