Hyderabad, March 04: TDP yesteday appeared divided over the Telangana issue with a section of its MLAs and MLCs expressing readiness to quit for a unified Andhra Pradesh even as party legislators from the region threatened to resign if a separate state was not created.
The TDP legislators from Andhra-Rayalaseema regions met this afternoon to discuss their latest strategy after they forced adjournment of the Assembly today by raising the demand for a unified state.
“We will act in accordance with the aspirations of the people of our region. We had resigned from our posts in the past and are ready to do so once again,” TDP Legislature Party deputy leader Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu said after their meeting.
He demanded that the Centre immediately take a decision on the statehood issue as per the recommendations of the Justice Srikrishna Committee.
