Hyderabad, March 25: TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao nominated TDP MLA Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy, who formally quit his post today, as a Politbureau member of the party.
Reddy joined TRS in the presence of Rao at a public meeting held in his Assembly constituency of Banswada in Nizamabad district a few days ago.
Reddy was accorded a grand welcome when he arrived at the TRS office here this evening. TRS MLAs E Rajender, K T Rama Rao, D Vinay Bhaskar and others welcomed him.
Reddy submitted resignation from his post to Andhra Pradesh Assembly Deputy Speaker N Manohar earlier in the day.
Simultaneously, he submitted his resignation letter to TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, saying he was quitting the party after a 27-year association as it took an ambivalent stand on the Telangana statehood issue.
