TDP leader Devineni Nehru is dead

Senior TDP leader and former minister Devineni Rajasekhar alias Nehru, who was ailing for sometime due to kidney problems passed away early this morning.

 

Nehru was discharged from Care Hospital only two days ago. However, he suffered stroke at 4 am and rushed to the Care. But he breathed his last at 4.25 am He has a son and a daughter.

Devineni was elected from Kankipadu Assembly constituency five times and once from Vijayawada East. He entered politics after late NTR founded the party and worked as Education Minister in NTR Cabinet. Later, he joined Congress. However, in August last year, he returned to the TDP mending differences with Chandrababu Naidu. Nehru played a key role in active politics in his three-decade political career.

On receipt of his demise, Devineni Uma, senior TDP leaders and his followers rushed to Hyderabad. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed his shock and grief over the sudden demise of Devineni Nehru.

 

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed his heartfelt condolences on the demise of Devineni Nehru.  KCR recalled his association with Devineni.

In a message, the Chief Minister conveyed his deep condolences to the members of bereaved family. He prayed the Almighty that the departed soul may rest in peace. (NSS)
