TDP flays CM statement on Naidu

Senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and former Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Yanamala Ramakrishnudu today flayed the statement of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy who said he had done more compared to what Mr Naidu had during his nine-year tenure.

The statement of the Chief Minister reflected his ego, Mr Ramakrishnudu said in a release here. The politburo member also said that it was unfortunate that Mr Reddy chose to criticise Mr Naidu instead of appreciating the fact that the TDP government had allotted Rs 350 crore for fee reimbursement and Rs 300 crore for BC welfare annually in the budget of Rs 20,000 crore presented then in the Assembly.

He said the Chief Minister was trying to divert attention by resorting to false propaganda as there was state-wide protests against the Congress government which neglected the BC welfare though the state has now as massive budget of Rs 1,46,000 crore. Mr Ramakrishnudu questioned the Chief Minister as to what he was doing when farmers’ lost patience and were attacking power sub-stations as power was being cut for 14 hours a day with the state having a deficit of 65 million units of power per day. Pointing out that farmers were attacking sub-stations and locking up power officials inside the offices, Mr Ramakrishnudu asked the Chief Minister to explain what steps his government is taking to redress the situation.
