Hyderabad, September 11: The Telugu Desam Party on Saturday demanded that the State Government release a White Paper on the status of unemployment in the State.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, TDP MLC Rajendera Prasad said that the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was trying to lure the youth by making false promises of providing jobs. Referring to the Chief Minister’s speech during Anantapur tour stating that the government would provide 15 jobs in the next three years, Rajendera Prasad asked the government to explain the policy in detail.
The TDP leader said that the Chief Minister must explain in detail as to how these jobs would be created. He asked the government to release the sector-wise plan for creation of jobs. Further, the government must also explain the availability of infrastructure and other facilities in those sectors where the government aims to employ 15 lakh people.
Rajendra Prasad said that the State was facing a financial crunch and was even unable to pay the salaries to the existing staff, for instance the employees of 104 Services. He said that the Chief Minister was making tall promises by ignoring the reality that it could not provide employment to the youth, at least in near future. He said even the private sector would not be able to help the Chief Minister as the government has not provided better facilities to them.
“It would be unfair to lure the youth with the promises of giving job. Therefore, the Chief Minister must disclose the relevant statistics before making such announcements,” he demanded.
