TDP demands Sagar water for Krishna Delta

Former Minister Vadde Sobhanadreeswara Rao on Friday criticized the State Government for not taking any decision on release of water for Krishna Delta from the Nagarjuna Sagar dam.

Talking to media persons at Zilla Parishad Office in Vijayawada on Friday he said although the High Court directed the government to file a counter petition in this regard in one month, the government failed to oblige the orders. He asked the government to explain why it was showing negligent attitude towards the farmers of Krishna district.

Questioning the government’s commitment towards the welfare of the farmers, he said that if the government fails to release water from Nagarjuna Sagar then the farmers in the Delta region would have to bear loss to the tune of Rs 3,000 crore. He appealed to the government to file counter petition in the High Court immediately to save the interest of Krishna Delta farmers. (INN)
