TDP demands One crore Ex-gratia for killed Policemen

elangana TDP leaders wanted the TRS Government to grant an amount of Rs. One crore as compensation to the families of each of the police personnel killed in the incident at Suryapet and Arvapally encounter recently.
TDP leaders E. Dayakar Rao, M. Narasimhulu and L. Ramana were speaking to the media after calling on the injured police officers undergoing treatment in Kamineni Hospital. While Circle Inspector Balagangi Reddy is recovering from the injuries sustained during the encounter at Arvapalli on Saturday, the condition of Sub-Inspector Siddaiah is stated to be still critical.

Apart from an ex-gratia of Rs. One crore for the deceased police personnel, the TDP leaders appealed to the government to provide three acres of land besides employed to one family member of the policemen killed in the incidents. They also blamed police intelligence for failing to act immediately after the Suryapet incident on Thursday in nabbing the two terrorists who were latter gunned down in an encounter in Arvapally. They also lamented over the police forcing continuing to be equipped with outdated weapons.

Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy also came in for flak from the TDP leaders for his “hasty comment” that the two killed in the encounter in Arvapally were members of an inter-state dacoity gang from UP. The Home Minister should be more responsible while making any statements in such serious incidents, they observed. (NSS)
