TDP demands hike in minority budget in 5 yr plan

On the direction of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, a delegation of Telugu Desam MPs led by TDP parliamentary party leader N Nageshwar Rao visited Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia in Delhi and told that the backwardness and poverty of minorities of the country have been disclosed by Sachar Committee report and reports of other committees, despite that the central government is not taking necessary measures for the development and welfare of the minorities.

Muslim minority is the second largest majority of the country, without whose development the development of the country is impossible, hence instead of paying lip services, practical measures should be taken.

The delegation sought Rs 44,202 crore minority budget in the 12th Five Year Plan.
