Hyderabad, April 12: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) corporators of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) have demanded to re-convene the general body meeting immediately.
TDP floor leader Singireddy Srinivas Reddy said the general body meeting held a few days ago was adjourned abruptly without discussion of any important issues.
The meeting on Thursday last had ended abruptly as the GHMC commissioner Sameer Sharma walked out after corporators raised a hue and cry on the circular issued to levy 600 percent penalty on illegal constructions.
They alleged it was issued without bringing to notice of the standing committee or general body.
Many corporators even demanded transfer of the commissioner for his high-handedness.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development minister, M Maheedhar Reddy reportedly saw the video footage of council proceedings to find out if a particular corporator spoke rudely to the commissioner, prompting his walkout.
