TDP constitutes committee to study SEZ allocations

Telugu Desam Party has constituted a five member committee to study the land allocations done by the State Government for setting up Special Economic Zones in the state.

TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday set up a five member study team to look into allocation of large chunk of land for Special Economic Zone in Kakinada. Naidu has nominated senior leaders – Kodela Shivprasad Rao, Kaluva Srinivasulu , Konakalla Narayana and M Kishan Reddy to visit Kakinada on April 14 and study the issue.

Based on the study report submitted by the study team, Naidu would visit the Kakinada SEZ region on April 19 and extend support to the farmers’ who have launched an agitation against the government for taking away their land and also their livelihood.

It may be mentioned that the farmers in Kakinada have been staging agitation demanding the restoration of lands acquired by the government in the name of SEZ. The farmers alleged that they were neither paid compensation by the government nor the SEZ was set up. (INN)
