TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu exuded confidence that his party would bag some 120 to 130 Assembly seats and 20 to 22 Lok Sabha seats in the Seemandhra region. Severely condemning “attacks” by YSRCP activists, Naidu hailed the electorate in the Seemandhra region for courageously facing treacherous activities of YSRCP workers.
Speaking to mediapersons at his residence on Thursday, Naidu alleged that YSRCP leaders “killed” five persons by distributing spurious liquor to the voters. He also alleged that the YSRCP tried to restrict polling percentage by creating fear psychosis due to fear of defeat. However, their treacherous tactics did not work, he added.
Alleging that YSRCP leaders caused physical attacks on TDP leaders, police officials and media persons, Chandrababu Naidu alleged that rowdyism which was confined to Pulivendula alone previously has spread to the entire Seemandhra region. He also alleged that the voters in the region had rejected the fake currency notes offered by the YSRCP leaders for their votes.
The TDP president said he had written to the Election Commission of India on Wednesday to order repoll in nine villages under Jammalamadugu mandal for rigging and driving out of TDP polling agents by the YSRCP men. He also questioned silence of journalist associations, who usually make a fuss over a trivial issue. Naidu also demanded that the ECI ensure that there were no untoward incidents till the election results are announced. (NSS)
