The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today complained against police to the Chief Election Commission (CEC) stating that they had intentionally foisted false case against party senior leader and star campaigner Errabelli Dayakar Rao and arrested him in order to prevent participating in the by-election campaign in Station Ghanpur in Warangal district slated on March 18. In a letter addressed to the CEC, the copy of which was released to media here, TDP state Vice peresent E Peddi Reddy said the TDP leader Dayakar Rao was conductiong election campaign on hehalf of party from the date of election notification. At the instance of leader of ruling party and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party, Zaffarghad Police Station Sub-Inspector, in Warangal district foisted a false case against Dayakar Rao and detained him on March 12.
The police took law into their hands and arrested the leader without permission from the election authority and foisted a false case. Today when a bail application moved on hehalf Dayakar Rao, some of the advocates who were sympathisers of TRS party entered the court hall and obstructed the court proceedings by shouting slogans and demanded that not to grant bail, Mr Reddy said. The acts of the police and the advocates who were obstructed court proceedings are illegal and they were liable for action. Mr Reddy requested the CEC to inquire into the incident and initiate appropriate action against the police and Advocates who obstructed court proceedings. UNI
