TDP Challenges Kiran To Come For Debate On BC Welfare

Telugu Desam Party has strongly condemned the Chief Minister Kran Kumar Reddy for charging the party Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu of showing false love towards the backward communities.

In a statement here on Wednesday, party BC cell president Reddy Subramaniam and general
secretary Simhadri Kanakachari have challenged the Chief Minister to come for an open debate
on which had party had done the most for the BCs. They said that N T Rama Rao was has launched
the TDP basically to do justice to the neglected sections like the BCs. They said if thousands
of BCs were enjoying positions in local bodies, it was due to NTR and asserted that TDP was
the only party in the entire country which has shown most concern for the welfare of BCs. 20
percent reservations to BCs in local body elections, 27 percent reservations in jobs and
creation of federations for Vaddera, Rajaka and Nayee Brahmin communities were done only
during the rule of NTR, they reminded and sarcastically said that Kran Kumar Reddy mightnot
have even opened his eyes politically when these reforms were brought. They also pointed out
that Chandra Babu Naidu who took over the reins later has also helped the BCs through the
Aadarana scheme.

Charging Kiran of doing injustice to the BCs, they said he had reduced the 27 percent
reservations created by the TDP in jobs to 22.5 percent. They also said that Kiran had done
injustice to the BCs by scrapping the Aadarana scheme introduced by their leader. They have
also questioned Kiran if he felt justified to give just one minister post to the BCs whose
population was 50 percent. They also said that Naidu had pronounced the BC declaration, which
no party else dared to even think of. The two BC leaders said that Kiran was afraid that BCs
were thronging he ‘Vastunna Meekosam Padayatra of Naidu and was shivering that Congress would
be totally wiped off in the next elections. He said instead of criticizing their leader, Kiran
should make an introspection on how much importance he had given to the BCs in his own
cabinet. (NSS)
