TDP to boycott presidential election

TDP in its meeting held yesterday decided to boycott presidential elections after deliberating the issue at length.

Mr. Ramesh Raathod, TDP MP While talking to newsmen yesterday told them TDP will refrain from voting in Presidential elections. He told that the party can’t support communal parties and the UPA candidate Mr. Pranab Mukherjee is anti-Telangana. It has, therefore, been decided to stay away from presidential polling to be held tomorrow.

The meeting of TDP was held under the chairmanship of its president Mr. N. Chandrababunaidu at NTR Trust Bhavan. The leaders of the party advised that the party should not vote for Mr. Pranab Mukherjee because he is opposed to Telangana state. The party leaders also decided not to support Mr. P.A. Sangma since a communal party BJP is supporting him.

The leaders said that the real opponent of TDP is Congress and therefore they decided not to support its candidate.
