TDP MLA K Ramulu on Friday demanded that State Government take immediate steps to help the farmers.
Speaking to media persons here, Ramulu alleged that the Congress Government had failed to address the problems being faced by the farmers. While sub-standard seeds were supplied to the farmers, the subsidy meant for the farmers was swindled by the Congress leaders, he alleged. The farmers across the State have suffered heavy losses due to crop failures and payment of interest on loans.
Since the Centre has decided to impose President’s Rule in the State, he appealed to Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Secretary Dr PK Mohanty to ensure supply of standard seeds and fertilisers for farmers and purchase of their yield in the government market yards. (INN)
