TDP polit-bureau member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Friday demanded that the Congress Government prove as to what it has really done for the welfare of the Backward Classes after coming to power.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bahavan, Ramakrishnudu alleged that both the parties, Congress and YSR Congress. have been working exactly in opposite direction in terms of welfare of the BC community. During YS Rajshekhar Reddy’s tenure lands belonging to BCs were taken away by the government at through away prices in the name of Special Economic Zons (SEZs). BC community has suffered a huge lose during YSR’s regime. He alleged that even the fishermen also face several problems during YSR’s rule as the government took away their lands and deprived them of the welfare funds.
The TDP leader said that the Telugu Desam Party has launched the Adharana Scheme for the welfare of the BCs but the former Chief Minister YS Rajshekhar Reddy scrapped the scheme after it came to power. He said that both the parties – Congress and YSR Congress have no right to speak anything about the upliftment of the BCs.
