May Day celebrations were held at NTR Trust Bhavan here on Friday under the aegis of TNTUC. Several TDP leaders and party workers were present.
Speaking on this occasion, TTDP president L Ramana said it is happy to celebrate May Day on a grand note. He said TDP founder-president late NT Rama Rao gave equal priority to all sections of the people. The credit of identifying dignity of labor in the present society goes to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and the credit of mentioning the ‘Chakram’ (Circle) and ‘Nagali’ (plough) which are symbols of workers and labor, goes to TDP.
He lamented that the workers and farmers were striving for their economic development but they were not enjoying the fruits of economic development of the nation. “There is urgent need to extend help to the labor, hamalis and masonry workers and extend justifiable amount to their work”, he said, adding the evading work will be eradicated only when the workers are paid equal amount to equal work. He also alleged that the Telangana State government has thrown small time workers on the road and it failed to revise the salaries even though the essential goods’ prices are skyrocketing. TDP will always extend support to the laborer, he assured. (NSS)
