Hyderabad, December 24: Telugu Desam Party activists tried to storm the offices of vernacular daily Sakshi to protest against the news published in Sakshi newspaper against their party president N Chandrababu Naidu and burnt copies of the newspaper.
In news published in Sakhshi doubts were expressed about Naidu’s secret of surviving for six days without taking any foods or fluids. It was suspected that Naidu might be taking food and drink secretly. The news expressed surprise that how the sugar level of Naidu who is on hunger fast for six days is increasing instead of decreasing.
Not only this it was also questioned that what his private doctors were doing in the closed room?
The furious TDP activists tried to barge into the newspaper’s office at Banjara Hills protesting against the news published in the newspaper. They had arrived in a procession.
Raising slogans against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy, the activists made their futile bid to enter the premises, where the alert police foiled their attempts and took a few of them into custody, shifting them to the nearby police station. The TDP activists also burnt a few copies of the daily in front of the office.
Mr Ravinchandra Yadav denounced the remarks which said that the TDP chief’s fast was aimed at getting political mileage and has hidden agenda. The Telugu Yuvatha president also sought the Kadapa leader’s apology. Mr Ravichandra Yadav warned of serious consequences if Mr Jaganmohan Reddy does not withdraw his remarks against Mr Naidu.
The protest and the slogan shouting led to tension prevailing on Road No 12, Banjara Hills with traffic on the busy road coming to a standstill. The police had a tough time to ease traffic on the road.
