TDP accuses UPA of pressurising CBI in Jagan’s case

The Telugu Desam party on Tuesday accused the Congress-led UPA Government for mounting pressure on the Central Bureau of Investigation for not arresting Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the disproportionate assets case.

Talking to media persons at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party office, TDP MLAs Devineni Uma, B Durgaprasad and M Lingareddy accused the UPA Government of not giving freehand to the CBI to arrest Jagan. Though the CBI has named Jagan as the Accused Number 1 in its charge sheet submitted to the court, they asked as to why the probing agency failed to arrest him.

They asked why the CBI was showing discrimination in the arrest of Jagan despite arresting other accused in the case. They alleged that the CBI was not arresting Jagan as he had good relationship with Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and political advisor to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Ahmed Patel.

They said that the CBI should get warrant from the court to arrest Jagan. (INN)
