TDP accuses CM of shielding corrupt ministers

Telugu Desam Party senior leader K Yerran Naidu on Sunday accused Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of shielding Roads and Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasad Rao, against whom the CBI has filed charge sheet in connection with disproportionate assets case.

Talking to media persons, Erram Naidu said that the people were unable to understand the rationale behind the Chief Minister’s move and as to why the government was showing discrimination in protecting some ministers. Though former Excise minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao is languishing in Jail, he sought to know as to why the Chief Minister was dragging his feet in suspending Dharmana Prasad Rao from the Cabinet. Demanding that Kiran Kumar Reddy accept the resignation of Dharmana Prasad Rao immediately, he wondered about a section of Ministers directly expressing solidarity with the tainted ministers.

If the Chief Minister continues to support the tainted ministers, the TDP leader said that the day was not far away when Kiran Kumar Reddy himself will attend the court. He alleged that the CBI has clinching evidence that Ministers have colluded with Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy and helped him in looting the wealth of the State. He demanded that the government sack all those ministers involved in looting wealth and initiate action as per the law.

Yerran Naidu said that the Congress government in the State and Centre would enter Guinness Book of records if the corruption was taken as a parameter in the country. He said that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh should be held responsible for the coalgate scam and he should be answerable to Parliament.
