Hyderabad, April 20: Deputy speaker Nadendla Manohar on Tuesday issued show-cause notices to two TDP rebel MLAs Y Bala Nagireddy (Mantralayam) and Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy (Banswada) seeking explanation why they should not be disqualified as MLAs.
While issuing show-cause notices, Manohar wanted them to furnish their replies within a week. The deputy speaker wanted another TDP rebel MLA N Prasanna Kumar Reddy (Kovur) to give his reply to TDP’s counter petition filed recently.
The TDP wanted the deputy Speaker to disqualify Bala Nagireddy and Prasanna Kumar Reddy for their anti-party activities. Both the MLAs revolted against TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and are sailing with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Another MLA Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy joined the TRS and also submitted his resignation to the deputy speaker.
However, the TDP leaders contended that they first wanted the deputy speaker to disqualify Pocharam.
Prasanna Kumar Reddy filed a reply on the TDP’s disqualification petition. The TDP again filed a counter petition giving more details about his anti-party activities and urged the speaker to disqualify him.
Now, Manohar wanted Prasanna Kumar Reddy to file his reply to the TDP’s counter petition.
Government whip Bhatti Vikramarka and whip Kondru Murali also met the deputy speaker on Tuesday and reportedly discussed about the disqualification of rebel Congress MLAs.
It is learnt that the Congress may give the names of some rebel MLAs to Manohar on Wednesday and ask him to disqualify them.
