TD, Congress Annoyed Over Influx Into TRS

Leaders from major political parties are on jumping spree to ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) expecting greener pastures. Though it is not uncommon for political parties facing such a typical situation, top leaders, who could not prevent them are inviting wrath from within. With this, the ruling party’s gain seems to be the loss to the parties as some senior leaders from Khammam district are counting days to take a leap.

This time around TDP senior leader Thummala Nageswara Rao is likely to switch loyalties to the TRS probably in first week of September. It is being said that Thummala may get into the TRS fold in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at Telangana Bhavan on September 5. Also, YSR Congress Party leader Madan Lal and Congress MLA Kanakaiah are likely to join the bandwagon of the TRS on the same day along with their followers in a fleet of vehicles. The TRS chief is said to have given his nod to invite them to strengthen the party.

Some of the TDP senior leaders made a vain bid at the behest of AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to prevent Thummala from joining the TRS. Though he denied on the day, it seems that he is determined to join the ruling party in Telangana, if sources are to be believed. The TDP leadership could not digest that their leaders from Khammam planning to join the TRS, including MLC B Lakshimnarayana, party district president K Koteswar Rao, ZP chairperson G Kavitha, DCCB Chairman, M Vijaya Babu, MPTCs, ZPTCs, Sarpanches and many others.

Political analysts assess it a great cause of concern for the TDP though Chandrababu Naidu was time and again telling that the TDP would come to power in 2019 General Elections. Naidu is caught in a web of confusion and a sort of tension as he could not prevent seniors like Nageswara Rao, TRS leaders felt. The situation is not different in Telangana Congress. Though the Congress Chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah and CLP leader K Jana Reddy and leader in Council D Srinivas tried their best, they could not stop those leaving the Congress to join the TRS fold, including KR Amos, K Yadava Reddy, Bhanu Prasad, Vithal Reddy and others.
