CPI National Secretary leader K. Narayana alleged that AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was not mounting pressure on the Centre to get Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to reporters at party office in Ongole on Wednesday, Narayana said that despite being an alliance partner at the Centre, the TD chief failed to get the support of the BJP and other allies. He accused the BJP and TD of not being serious on the issue of SCS to the state. Had the Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu shown the keen interest like he did in brining parties together on the GST bill, the special category status to AP would have been granted, the CPI leader said.
