The Telangana State unit of Communist Party of India (CPI) on Tuesday urged the State Election Commissioner P Ramakanth Reddy to take a decision and put an end to the uncertainty prevailed on the election of Municipal Chairpersons, Zilla Parishad Chairpersons and Mandal Praja Parishad Presidents.
The CPI Telangana State Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy wrote a letter to the State Election Commissioner in this regard. Reminding that Municipal, MPTC and ZPTC elections were conducted in the last week of April, he said that the results of the elections were announced on May 12 and 13 as per the direction of the Supreme Court. As the election of Municipal Chairpersons, ZP Chairpersons and MPPs were not completed till today, the camps of the Municipal Corporators, MPTCs and ZPTCs were continuing in the State, he regretted.
He felt that the people were facing problems due to complete non-formation of local bodies. It also severely impacted the development activities, he added.(NSS)
