TCC demands action against Gandra for his remarks

Telangana Co-ordination Committee has demanded the State government to take legal action against Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy, who made provocative statement, which forced suicide of MBA student Bhojya Naik.

Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, TCC chairman Dr A. Gopal Kishan demanded Venkataramana Reddy to resign his post owning moral responsibility for the suicide of Bhojya Naik. He also demanded Venkataramana Reddy to prove his Telangana sentiment by resigning and fight the by-election. He wanted the State government to sack Venkataramana Reddy from Chief Whip post if he failed to resign his post.

CCMB former Director P.M. Bhargava said that they would complain to the National Human Rights Commission on the suicides of Telangana people for the cause of separate state shortly, as the Central government was delaying a decision on separate state issue. He urged the World Health Organization ( WHO) to constitute a team to study the suicides of people of Telangana region for the cause of separate state. He alleged the state government was trying to suppress the Telangana agitation.

He said that over 850 persons have committed suicides for the cause of separate State so far. He appealed to the people of the region not to commit suicide , but to fight for separate state till it was achieved.

Senior Journalist Pothuri Venkateswarao, former DGP P. Ramulu, Telangana Development Forum’s D.P. Reddy and TCC general secretary T. Vivek were also present. (NSS)
