Hyderabad, April 22: A fax from New Delhi to the Office of the Director General, (Investigation), Income Tax, here on Wednesday led an eight-member team of I-T sleuths to raid the office of Deccan Chronicle Holdings Limited that owns the Deccan Chargers.
The searches, which began around 3 p.m., continued till late into the night and the taxmen reportedly seized some documents.
DC bought the franchise through its subsidiary the Deccan Chargers Sporting Ventures Ltd. Deccan Chargers Sporting Ventures Ltd is run by a board of directors headed by V Shanker. T Venkatram Reddy, PK Iyer, N Krishnan, M Sukumar Reddy and G Kumar are its members.
Venkatram Reddy is the chairman of DC Holdings Ltd.
Sources said I-T officials in Delhi directed their counterparts in State to probe all financial affairs of the Chargers — source of funds, income earned, payments made.
