A new Tatkal Licensing Scheme has been implemented with regard to grant of licences which will avoid delay in the process of grant of licence. The scheme will be applicable only for applicants applying for grant of BIS Certification Marks Licence for the products covered under mandatory certification listed in the BIS Website. The processing time for applications received under the Tatkal Scheme has been reduced to 30 days. Application fee and Inspection Charges, charged under the Tatkal Licensing scheme will be at double the rates to that applicable for application under normal scheme. Also, additional testing charges, applicable for priority testing of samples, will be charged for taking up the sample for testing on priority.
In case of difficulty in the processing of application under the scheme, either due to BIS account or Laboratory account, the additional fee collected for the activity to process the application under Tatkal Licensing Scheme and/ or priority testing of the sample, shall be adjusted against the marking fee/other amount payable by the applicant. The scheme is being implemented with immediate effect to benefit the industries which are brought under BIS Mandatory Certification.
