New Delhi: Tata Motors on Friday reported a 1 per cent year-on-year rise in sales at 53,057 units last month.
The company sold 52,479 vehicles in March 2015.
Domestic sales of Tata Motors’ commercial and passenger vehicles declined 1 per cent to 46,701 units during the month as against 47,044 units sold in March 2015.
Sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market fell 44 per cent to 8,454 units in March as against 15,039 units in the corresponding period a year ago, Tata Motors said in a statement.
As for passenger cars, the sales declined 47 per cent to 6,876 units in March compared with the year-ago period.
In the commercial vehicles segment, the company’s domestic sales stood at 38,247 units, up 20 per cent from March 2015, the company said.
Exports during the month stood at 6,356 units as against 5,435 units in March 2015 – an increase of 17 per cent.
