Mumbai, August 18: Tata Communications and Tyco Telecommunications today announced that they have completed the installation, testing and commissioning of the TGN-Intra Asia (TGN-IA) Cable System.
Tata Communications is a Tata Group firm, while Tyco Telecommunications is the business arm of Tyco Electronics.
“Tata Communications team is very excited to have completed our TGN-IA cable system, with the unwavering support of Tyco Telecommunications,” Tata Communications’ Network Strategy, Architecture & Optimisation, Vice-President, Simon Cooper, said in a release here.
“This system will meet the ongoing need for increasingly robust international connectivity, and will help to enable continued growth and development in the Asia-Pacific region,” Cooper said.
Arriving at the conclusion of a comprehensive test program, which verified compliance with all transmission requirements, the companies have completed the final step in achieving regional and global connectivity in Southeast Asia for the TGN, the release said.
The fully operational 6,700KM TGN-IA system links Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Vietnam and the Philippines, providing route diversity throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
