New Delhi, November 08: It seems Bangladeshi origin author Taslima Nasrin has been born to trigger controversies.
When Muslims the world over are busy in Bakra-Eid celebrations, the controversial author, who has often received death threats over her works, on Sunday sparked a fresh controversy with her tweet.
This time, the author went a step ahead in criticising animal scrifice and Allah, saying, “How can that god be great who appeases with the blood of innocent animals.”
“There is no need to say god is great while you are killing poor animals for food. These innocent animals don’t believe in Allah. Just say sorry to them,” she said.
Muslim hardliners have often charged Nasrim with blasphemy, especially over her 1994 novel Lajja, which depicted violence against minority Hindus by Muslims in Muslim-majority Bangladesh. She fled her homeland the same year.
