Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today called on Union Minister for Mines Narendra Singh Tomar in Delhi and urged him to set up a Steel Factory at Bayyaram in Khamman district in Telangana.
The Chief Minister who is in Delhi on a five day tour, met the minister at Udyog Bhavan and discussed on the need for the steel factory. Later, KCR told media persons that Tomar has promised to set up a task force of Centre and State for the steel factory. Tomar said that the Centre will take a decision in two months on steel plant on submission of the report by the committee. KCR further said that the state government will provide all facilities including necessary subsidies for the steel plant.
KCR then met Union Environment minister Prakash Jawadekar and sought his cooperation for according national status to Pranahitha Chevella project. He apprised Jawadekar on Harithahaarm project and clearances and funds for Devadula, Nettempadu and other projects.
The Chief Minister also met Chief Election Commissioner HS Brahma and appealed him to take steps on delimitation of constituencies. Explaining that the each parliamentary segment in Telaangana can get two more Assembly seats in Telaanganaa state, KCR urged the CEC to take steps for the same. Number of assembly seats will increase to 134 from 119 existing. (NSS)
