Washington DC, [USA] Nov 20 (ANI): Actor Taron Egerton thanked his upcoming action movie ‘Robin Hood’ for a successful career in action movies.
Speaking to EW, he said that starting his action movie career with the ‘Kingsman’ movie series was bit of a shock. He revealed that not coming from a sports background made him the most unlikely choice for starring as an “action hero”.
But for his upcoming movie, he was prepared, as he flew down to Budapest for hardcore archery training.
Talking about his grueling archery training for his titular role in the movie, he said that his “fingers were bleeding” that resulted in the bruising of his forearm.
In the movie, he said the style of archery shown is very real, but in reality, no arrows were actually fired while the film was being shot.
The latest installment of Robin Hood shows the thief with a heart of gold with a darker and a bolder twist. Describing the level of activity in the movie, Egerton said that to get a perfect shot for a specific scene, he had to get in and out of the sea about 40 times “in one night”.
The Otto Bathurst directorial will see Egerton play the titular role alongside Jamie Foxx, Ben Mendelsohn, and Eve Hewson.
‘Robin Hood’ is set to hit theatres on November 21.
On the work front, Egerton will be seen next in a biopic ‘Rocketman’ based on the iconic musician Elton John. [source_without_link]ANI[/source_without_link]
