Hyderabad, August 02: In the wake of pressure mounting on Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas after the Telangana Rashtra Samithi swept the Telangana by-elections, Minister for Information and Public Relations J Geetha Reddy on Sunday stated that the people were swayed by the Telangana sentiment.
Talking to media persons, she said there was no need for the PCC president to submit his resignation to the post, owning moral responsibility for the defeat.
She said the Telangana sentiment was strong and results indicate that Srinivas was not responsible for the Congress debacle in the by-elections.
Targeting one leader for the defeat in the by-elections is not good, she said and termed it as an ‘unwarranted’.
She called upon youth not to take extreme steps under emotion for the cause of Telangana and create law and order problem in the state.
