New Delhi: One of India’s top medal prospect at next year’s Olympics, World No. 1 shuttler Saina Nehwal said the Sports Ministry’s TOP scheme has been of immense help in her preparation for the Rio Games.
“My sincere appreciation @YASMinistry @Media_SAI @BAIMedia1 for the support over the years. Would not have been here without the support,” Saina wrote on her twitter page.
“Thank you @YASMinistry @Media_SAI @BAIMedia1 for training support under TOP Scheme. #Let’sMakeIndiaProud #Road2Rio.”
The 25-year-old, who won the bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics, hoped the TOP scheme will help other athletes as well.
“The @YASMinistry and @Media_SAI TOP Scheme has been a big support on my #Road2Rio. Hope many athletes will continue to benefit,” Saina tweeted.
The World Championship silver medallist will lead India’s charge in badminton when the Olympic Games gets underway at Rio de Janeiro next year.
