Tanzeem Hum Hindustani Saudi Arabia delegation meets Dy CM Telangana for solution of NRIs problems.

A delegation of Tanzeem Hum Hindustani (THH), a voluntary non-commercial, non-religious organization of overseas Indians in the Kingdom, met Mir Mahmud Ali, deputy chief minister of the newly formed south Indian state of Telengana, to find solution of problems facing the NRIs from the region and Ali agreed to visit kingdom soon in this regard. The delegation led by Mohammed Quaiser, THH president, visited Hyderabad, the capital of Telengana and had a detailed meeting with the deputy chief minister to have a healthy exchange of ideas on finding solutions to the problems on priority basis.

The delegation comprised of Mumtaz Ali Akram CEO Tech International, AL-Jubail and Abdul Aleem, CEO AMC Media & Advertising Riyadh, submitted a memorandum pointing the problems and issues where the state government of Telangana could help the non-resident Indians (NRIs) belongs to the state.

Mohammed Quaiser also congratulated deputy CM for the successful struggle towards the formation of Telangana followed by a magnificent victory of TRS in the state assembly elections and conveyed the best wishes of all Telangana NRIs residing in the middle east specially from the Kingdom.

The THH delegation during the meeting urged upon the new TRS government to come forward with the serious intention to assist the NRIs of Telangana. In this regard Quaiser invited to the deputy chief minister to visit officially with high level official delegation to study the problems of NRIs of Telangana and to see the possibilities of investments from the NRIs for the development of Telangana. The deputy CM happily accepted THH invitation and promised to visit the Kingdom with a high level government delegation very soon.

According to Quaiser NRIs mainly from the Middle East, who work thousands of miles away from the country and from their near and dear ones facing difficult conditions, keeping the nation’s name, flag and prestige high in the gulf countries by doing good works need special attention.

He added that the NRIs from the GCC contributes highest remittance to the country but\their grievances are poorly addressed as against those in Europe and America due to some prejudice, which is disheartening.

“Therefore we met out deputy CM and he happily agreed to be among us by visiting the Kingdom soon to find the solution of our problems,” Quaiser said.

He added, “We are bound to return to our country India sooner or later. Our earnings and savings are always home ward sound. Our remittances to India have a positive factor in buildup of our enormous foreign exchange reserves. Therefore we request the state government of Telengana to constitute a group to study the problems of Telengana

NRIs in the gulf in depth for working out the necessary solutions.” Among the demands THH made include Air India direct flights to Hyderabad.

Quaiser pointed that this is a long overdue demand from the Telengana people to operate the direct flight from Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam to Hyderabad by our national carrier Air India at least twice in a week to provide solace to our concerns. He added that since a large number of Telengana people, their families and children travels frequently to Hyderabad from Saudi Arabia, they face a lot of difficulties in absence of direct flights as sometimes one and a half days have to spend to reach Hyderabad due to indirect flight instead of four and a half hours of journey on a direct flight.

“We also diverted attention that currently there are 2.8 million Indians in Saudi Arabia, the largest number of Indian passport holders anywhere in the world and out of them Telengana constitute number third after Kerala and Tamilnadu in the total number. Due to absence of direct flight on many occasions we cannot send our families or children alone during school vacations or in any emergency situation.despite of our professional engagements we have to accompany them. Therefore we humbly request to kindly make a strong recommendation to the national carrier to start direct flights from Riyadh/Jeddah/Dammam as well as the other Gulf destinations,” he underlined.

THH further demanded to assign a minister in charge to cater to the problems of Telengana people residing overseas.

Mumtaz Ali Akram and Abdul Aleem also briefed the deputy CM on various other issues which NRIS are facing.

The deputy chief minister listened the concerns with patience and assured that their government will direct the concerned departments and urge central government to resolve the problems at the earliest on priority basis.

Moreover, Mohammed Quaiser assured on behalf of THH to the new TRS government to extend all the support and coordination to attract NRIS for investment in Telengana and urged the government to announce a special facility package to make Hyderabad a prime destination for tourism.
