Mumbai, February 10: Tanushree is looking at some eventful months ahead with the twin releases of ROKKK and APARTMENT round the corner.
Though she is coming out of a rather lean patch in 2010, Tanushree is also driving hope from the fact that some of her prominent contemporaries have risen in Bollywood over a period of time in spite of being written off in the early days of their career.
“In last three years there have been actresses who were termed as mere wall flowers. However, look at where they are today! Really, I am not envious of them at all but instead quite appreciative about it because based on their acting skills, they are now being cast in better roles.
As an actor, you need time to be nurtured and guided. You should not be written off if you have managed to show some spark in your performance in your initial assignments”, Tanushree gives some food of thought here. And if one reads between the words and implies that the reference point here is a certain Katrina Kaif, then that’s not necessarily a mere coincidence or assumption.
One can also sense that Tanushree is unwilling to mince any words. No wonder, she admits that she has had to fight right throughout her acting career. “I got good reviews for quite a few of my films but then it would have been great had they worked well at the box office as well.
Critics liking a performance is great but if people do not notice in then you are bound to be disappointed. The state of affairs in the industry though is that it’s only the hits that count and what is forgotten pronto is that here is an actor who is willing to take on a challenge and given a meatier role that can deliver well than just do songs. But then what can one do when it is assumed that if you boast of a 24 inch waist then you don’t have any brains?”
