New Delhi: Demanding that the Centre make the TRS government to retain the existing dharna chowk at Indira Park, Dharna Chowk Parirakshana Committee staged a dharna at Jantar Mantar here on Monday.
CPI general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy, CPM general secretary Seetharam Yechuri, CPM State secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram and several others participated in the dharna. They alleged that the TRS government was suppressing the people’s democratic voices and criticized the anti-people policies of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Speaking on the occasion, Tammineni Veerabhadram sarcastically asked the award giving committees to confer ‘Telangana Hitler Award’ to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. He said lifting dharna chowk from Indira Park in the State capital was nothing but suppressing democratic rights of the people. Chada Venkat Reddy also aired similar opinion. (NSS)
