Dubai, January 24: Moon TV, a Chennai-based Tamil infotainment channel, announced the launch of its Gulf band.
Sanjay Verma, Consul-General of India in Dubai, inaugurated the television’s Gulf operations at a recent function at Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Albert Alex, general manager of Moon TV Gulf, said the channel, which has a footprint in 133 countries, has set up a bureau in Dubai. Moon TV’s programmes are now available in the region through E-vision network and satellite.
“We have started producing content from the Gulf. Initially, we plan to have two hours of Gulf-specific programmes including news bulletins, from 8.30pm to 10.30pm (UAE time). Later, the Gulf band will be extended to three hours daily till 11.30pm,” said Alex. He said Moon TV, which started broadcasting in 2008, is the first Tamil TV channel to launch direct operations from the Gulf based on a complete programme format.
