Chennai, November 14: The Tamil Nadu government Friday said fishermen who set out for fishing in 150 boats from Kanyakumari and were caught in the Phyan storm are reaching the Maharashtra and Kerala coast.
Around 1,000 fishermen from Kanyakumari had gone to the Arabian sea from Nov 1 onwards for fishing off the Kerala and Gujarat coasts.
Assuring the distressed families of the fishermen, the Tamil Nadu government said the Coast Guard has been asked to help in rescuing the fishermen in the high seas.
Three injured fishermen were saved by Goan fishermen and are undergoing treatment in a hospital there.
