Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, parents of the slain teenager Aarushi Talwar, were found guilty of double murder by the special CBI court in Ghaziabad.
They were convicted under IPC section 302, section 201 and 34, said lawyer Naresh Yadav. Rajesh Talwar was also separately convicted under IPC section 203 for registering wrong FIR at Noida’s Sector 20 police station. The punishment will be announced tomorrow. The couple broke down in the court after the judge announced the verdict.
Talwar couple issued a statement saying, “We are deeply disappointed, hurt and anguished for being convicted for a crime that has not been committed.”
“We refuse to feel defeated and will continue to fight for justice.”
