Tallest Martyrs Memorial to come up Hussain Sagar: CM

Hyderabad: State Government is gearing up for constructing a gigantic and yet enticing tallest memorial for Telangana martyrs, which will be cynosure in the city dotting Hussain Sagar lakebed. To celebrate Telangana State Formation Day for second consecutive year, the TRS government will offer a fitting tribute to the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for statehood.

This was stated by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at his camp office during a high level official review. A big event across the State should be conducted to mark the statehood, KCR said entrusting the job of setting up Martyrs’ memorial and a commemorative park along with a meditation centre to Ganapathi Reddy, Engineer-in-Chief of Roads & Buildings department. KCR also asked the officials to prepare and preserve life histories Telangana ideologue Prof.  Jayashankar and other prominent Telangana stalwarts. State’s culture and history should reflect impeccable veracity of statehood movement, he added.

 A literary and meditation center will come up to offer soothing and comfort experience to the visitors. The tallest Telangana Memorial will be constructed on the banks of Hussain Sagar in addition to 125 ft high Ambedkar statute behind monolith Buddha statue besides a gigantic size national flag in tri-color towards Secunderabad. KCR also decided to shift Buddha Purnima, Tourism, electricity and other government offices abutting lake area. The officials were asked to make arrangements for laying foundation stone and similar event will be held at Telangana Bhavan, a CMO release said. (NSS)
